Introductions – Manny

When Manny first came to us in 2013 he was very undernourished and was so unwell that he let little Danny bully him and steal his food. Fortunately after a few weeks of good feed he started to put on weight and feel more lively, and he promptly put Danny back in his place. Danny still tries to steal his food sometimes, but he’s always very careful to stay out of reach of Manny’s teeth and heels!

We quickly learnt that Manny is a quiet horse who likes to be handled quietly. He doesn’t like to be fussed over and if decides he doesn’t want to be caught, not even food will lure him in.

Most horses have retired by Manny’s age, but he is still strong and willing so we still use him for light riding. He’s an absolute gentleman who looks after his riders regardless of their skill level, but if asked, he’ll quite happily show you why he was a successful racehorse in his youth.
